Bloem Office Rebrand

A Bloemfontein office asked us to refresh its reception and meeting areas with cleaner branding, better privacy and a sharper first impression. We supplied frosted glazing, interior wall graphics and reception branding sized for daily use in a busy working office.

A practical rebrand for a working Bloemfontein office

This project came from a professional office in Bloemfontein that wanted a smarter front-of-house area without turning the place into a showroom. The brief was simple enough on paper: update the reception branding, add privacy to selected glass panels, and bring the interior walls into line with the company’s identity. In practice, it needed careful planning because the office stayed open during the work and staff still had to move through the space each day.

The client wanted a finish that felt neat, modern and easy to maintain. Because the office receives visitors, suppliers and staff traffic throughout the week, the graphics had to hold up to touch, cleaning and sunlight coming through the windows. We also had to work around existing fittings, glass divisions and wall colours, so the new graphics would sit properly without making the space feel crowded.

What the brief asked for and what we had to work around

The main request was to improve the reception area first, then carry the same look into the passage and internal office walls. The client also asked for some privacy on the glazed sections, but without blocking all natural light. That meant using frosted vinyl in selected places and keeping certain sections clear for visibility and safety.

There were a few constraints. The job had to be completed in a short window, the office could not be shut down, and the glass surfaces were already in use. We also had to make sure all graphics aligned with the existing architecture rather than fighting it. In a Bloemfontein office, where strong sun and dust are part of daily life, material choice matters. We selected films and print materials that would keep their colour and edge stability, even with regular cleaning and temperature changes.

  • Reception wall branding sized for the main entrance area
  • Frosted glazing for selected glass panels and doors
  • Interior wall graphics to tie the office spaces together
  • Materials chosen for indoor use, easy cleaning and long wear
  • Installed around normal office hours with minimal disruption

Survey, artwork setup and production in sequence

We started with a site survey at the Hamilton base and checked the glass sizes, wall lengths, sight lines and any obstacles around the reception zone. From there we set up artwork to suit the actual measurements, not a rough estimate. That matters with office graphics because a few millimetres off can make a logo sit awkwardly over a join or a door line.

Our graphic setup included logo redraws where needed, layout checks for legibility, and print preparation for the wall elements. The frosted glazing sections were cut to size and tested against the glass layout before installation. Production was handled in-house across the relevant stages so that the branding, vinyl cutting and print work all stayed consistent in colour and finish. Johan led the install side, while Zanele finalised the artwork and Lerato kept the production schedule moving.

  • Site survey and measurement taking
  • Artwork setup and layout approval
  • Vinyl cutting and print production
  • Graphic lamination for added durability
  • Dry fit checks before final application

Installation with the office still in use

The installation was planned in phases over two weeks so the office could continue operating. We began with the glazing work, since that affected privacy and light the most. After that we moved to the reception branding and then the internal wall graphics. This order helped keep the workspace usable as we progressed, and reduced the risk of dust or adhesive work affecting completed areas.

On site, the team made sure edges were clean, levels were true, and joins were aligned properly around corners and door lines. Where the wall surface needed a little extra attention, we prepared it before fitting. The final result was neat and controlled, not overdone. It gave the office a stronger visual identity while still leaving the room calm enough for day to day admin and client meetings. There was a bit of pressure with timing, but the job landed well.

Results the client could use straight away

The office now has a clearer front-of-house presence, better privacy on the glass sections and a more coordinated interior finish. Visitors get a stronger first impression as soon as they walk in, and staff have a workspace that feels more organised without changing the whole room. The frosted glazing also cuts glare on certain sections, which helps in bright midday light common around Bloemfontein.

For the client, the biggest benefit was that the branding looks intentional from the start of the reception area through to the internal walls. The office no longer feels pieced together. It feels settled. The surfaces are also easy to clean and maintain, which is important in commercial spaces where fingerprints, dust and daily traffic are unavoidable.

  • Cleaner reception presentation for visitors
  • Improved privacy on glass panels and doors
  • Better light control in selected areas
  • Consistent branding across visible office zones
  • Low-maintenance finishes for regular use

What we would repeat on the next office job

If we were doing this type of office rebrand again in Bloemfontein, we would follow the same approach: measure properly first, set artwork to the actual site, and stage the install so the business can keep working. That approach keeps things tidy and avoids surprises on the day. It also helps with municipal and building requirements where access, safety and visibility need to be respected.

For offices in Mangaung and the surrounding towns, a good rebrand is not just about putting up logos. It is about choosing the right level of privacy, the right finish for the space, and the right timing for installation. For this project, that balance worked well. The office now has a clean image that supports the business without getting in the way of daily work.
